Photo Essay
The subject for my photo essay was my niece and I, and we took these photos in front of my garage. I selected this pace because it was a nice white background, and it made it so you focused on us, not the background. This is important to me because it shows the growth between me and her, and how we can be alike, but also different. My images captured that very well, and it captures the narrative by making your eyes follow the pictures, and you notice the similarities and the differences. I ordered them her then me, so it shows the younger then the older. It also shows the order of being happy, random, mad, condescending, then silly. The viewpoint was just straight on, and made you focus more on us than anything else. These images looked much better in color than in black and white, because the black and white would make it look more depressing then free spirited and happy.
Letter Forms
I created my name, Tiffany. For the T, I took a picture of bricks and zoomed into where they meet, so it would look like a T. For the F, I took a picture of a water grate and zoomed in so the metal looked like the letter F. The pipes as the N is the most unexpected, because it took a lot of changing, zooming, and contortion to make it look like an N. If i could do this again, i would spell out Cookie, because that's the name of my favorite dog. They are all unified because of them all being building objects. A logical place could be at a park because the rocks, trees, and anything else you find could easily look like a letter.
